“Slew and hanged” or “Slew by hanging” in Acts 5:30?

It has been alleged that the KJV's rendering makes it appear as if our Lord was killed first, and then hanged on a tree.  These critics do not understand the use of the conjunction "and".  “And” is a conjunction that indicates simultanaeity, not causation or chronology.  The slaying and hanging occurred simultaneously because the two occurrences coincided chronologically.
