"That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus." (Hebrews 13:16, KJV) Κοινωνία (Koinonia) means “sharing” in the broadest sense, but in these passages the meaning is narrowed to mean “communication” (Thayer's Greek-English Lexicon). The context in these passages indicates a sharing of discourse, which is communication. Philemon 1:6 is about sharing the faith (evangelism) and Hebrews 13:16 is about sharing the “sacrifice of praise.” |
